Infrastructure
Cascade Locks Elementary has 2 exciting opportunities to plan for safer walking and bikeways for the students:
1. Oregon DOT Safe Routes to School planning process for the County, beginning in January 2026.
2. Forest Lane redesign: the City of Cascade Locks, Hood River County and Historic Columbia River Highway will partner to envision a complete street vision for Forest Lane. TBD.
Email megan.ramey@hoodriver.k12.or.us to get involved.

80s Walk & Roll Club
80s Walk & Roll Club was inspired by movies of the 1980s like Goonies and E.T. and the current show of Stranger Things. All these shows feature free-range, problem-solving kids riding bikes or blazing trails in the woods.
Students will gain more confidence in biking while subversively learning traffic etiquette, empathy and laws. We listen to music and have fun.
5th to 8th graders welcome. Offered year around.
